Vintage Mr. Chow L.A. matchbooks circa 1970s. 

Michael Chow, also known as Mr. Chow is the creative force behind the restaurant empire, which began with a Valentine's Day opening in London in 1968. The restaurant almost immediately became gathering places for artists, celebrities, and fashion icons, with many artists creating portraits of Michael Chow. Here the matchbooks feature a portrait on the cover of Mr. Chow from 1968 and a reverse 'food painting' by Ed Ruscha 1973 for Mr. Chow Beverly Hills which opened in 1974. In unstruck condition with pull out matches, showing minor age appropriate wear. A scarce find and a must for any collector. Sold individually.
