Design: Roberto Sambonet softback published by Federico Motta Editore printed in Italy 1993.
Of all Sambonet's work everyone knows the Fish-kettle, a sort of tribute to Jean Arp and to Brancusi, a steel bird displayed in design museums the world over. His teaching in Sao Paulo in Brazil, travels to the Far East, familiarity with far off cultures are set against the creation of objects, invention of new uses for crystal, majolica, metal and fabrics. This is new but the key to understanding just why Roberto Sambonet is different lies in his experimentation, which places on the same level graphics and design, architectural project and painting. He is, thus, a leading figure in that culture attentive to the avant-garde forms - artistic in particular - which have so inspired his many inventions in the world of design.
Sleek tableware and graphics from a leading figure of Milanese design culture fully illustrated. Some wear to cover with creasing and a creased interior page.
