Vintage Verner Panton 'Geometri' rug designed 1960 for the Astoria Hotel in Norway official limited reedition by Vitra Design Museum 2001
Features Panton's iconic black and white op art 'Geometri' pattern in hand tufted 100% pure New Zealand wool. A soft pile approximately 20mm thick with linen edged backing. Missing the sewn on tag but has the exact same backing, materials and details of the Vitra Edition from available photos online. Came from a broadway show about Jacqueline Susann (lol). Shows some minor age appropriate wear with a few minor spots as pictured. Shows excellently but sold as is, I gave it a very thorough vacuum. An extremely scarce find as only 100 were made allegedly, similar rugs available retail around $5k.
